cool!
mixman, do you have any song of yours as a reason song file where you think you did fine compression & eq, etc.
if yes, is there any chance to get this reason song file so i can take a look at it and learn from it. that would be awesome.
greetings,
chrissie

I think the guys at propellerheads did an excellent job with their MClass Mastering Patches, and I frequently use those.
I don't bother too much with mastering.
You can search on reason station (but I think you already know the website) for patches/songs.
Good luck

Demo some Sequencers and see which ones you like best! Although I'm not sure if you can Demo Cubase or Logic, but you can demo Fl Studio, Ableton etc... I personally use Fl studio 8. I also own Ableton, but I feel more comfortable in Fl

I use Fruity Loops Studio 8, but I'm a total beginner so I can't really say one is better than another because I don't really know. FL Studio 8 is pretty easy to get familiar with and it seems like it does a lot for being such a basic tool compared to other software. I'm hoping to check out Cubase sometime soon though, I've heard a lot of good things about it.

I use Logic 8 and I'm very happy with it. I've read it online and have experienced it myself; unlike many other softwares, Logic 8 studio is easy to work with. If you have a mac i think it's one of the best choices you have.

I would agree with Niko. Logic pro 8 is so easy to learn and work with. Not to mention a handful amount of known musicians use it.
