6PM. Chilling. Hanging out with the guys. The air is choking us and there?s nothing much to do than just wasting time under some tree or behind a building that protects us from the sun. I?m bored. I?m constantly looking at my mobile phone hoping that something, anything will happen.
And that is what happened: ?It?s done! If you want to come, grab a train and come sleep over at my place. The day after tomorrow we?re going to Targu Mures!? It was a cousin of mine. ?I?m gathering other people, you?ll meet them, they?re nice, so don?t worry if you?re the youngest among us!
I immediately ran inside the house, started packing and waited for the next day to come. My mom didn?t even have the time to object me leaving without giving her details. The next day, a two-hour trip to Brasov awaited me. Suddenly, 200 miles didn?t seem that much to me. Arriving in Brasov, i found my cousin waiting for me. That evening I met the guys I was going to go to Targu Mures. Nice bunch!
There?s another side of the story: I?ve never been to Targu Mures before, Brasov was my virtual border in Transylvania. Therefore, ATB?s Gig was a chance for me to explore new things. But let?s not get distracted by the geographical beauties of the country, I have a concert to attend!
10PM, Targu Mures. The city looks deserted. No wonder, everybody is at the Peninsula Festival. We ask for some directions and we finally get to the location. I always liked concerts because you get to see thousand of unknown people having the same tastes in music as you do. We parked the cars and set off by foot. Initially we were intending to grab the tickets, return to the cars and change our clothes and then head to the tent where the Gig was about to start. As usual, nothing went according to plan. So, a guy in shorts and a FC Barcelona shirt went to see a great concert. I know, kind of embarrassing but that didn?t matter at that moment.
Entering THE TENT. Many people, perhaps too many. The people there felt like there was something big about to happen. The DJ before Andre knew how to tease us: as soon as the crowd heard a melodic tune, they were expecting to see the ?9PM Man? show up. From the moment the real show started, memories start to disappear. Isn?t it funny? I was supposed to review an ATB Gig and here I am talking endlessly about the moments before the show. However, there are three things that are stuck to my memory (and I believe that they are going to be there for the rest of my life): the energy of Ecstasy, the tribal beats of Hold You, followed by the hair-rising bass, but the most important thing, Andre waving at us before starting his show. I?ll never forget that moment. There is an unknown DJ mixing, and suddenly Andre makes his entrance. The crowd goes crazy. I think that Andres thought when waving at us were: ?Ok! Here we go again! I hope you?re ready for this?
And we were ready for what was about to happen. Thank you, Andre! See you tomorrow at Kristal Glam Club!
P.S. I hope I get to get an autograph from you this time. Last year I was standing three feet from you but I forgot to bring a pen and a piece of paper.
